SHIITAKE mushrooms are delicious and nutritious brown mushrooms that grow on hardwood trees. They are rich in vitamins & minerals, as well as polysaccharides, terpenoids, sterols, and lipids, some of which have immune-boosting, cholesterol-lowering, and anticancer effects. In addition, shiitake contain many of the same amino acids as meat. These are slow dried to preserve flavour, and are heat sealed into our 100% compostable/biodegradable resealable zipper-packages.
